In a shocking turn of events, the players and bus of Tamale City Football Club were reportedly attacked by fans of Aduana Stars after a Ghana Premier League match on Sunday.
The incident took place in Dormaa, where the home team secured a 1-0 victory with a penalty in the 10th minute of added time, extending their lead at the top of the league.
According to Hamza Mohammed, the Head Coach of Tamale City FC in an interview with 3 Sports monitored by Fishfmonline.com the team’s bus was destroyed, and the players were pelted with stones by the Aduana FC supporters.
“Our bus is destroyed. Aduana FC supporters were throwing stones at us”, he stated.
Social media was abuzz with images of the team’s damaged bus, with one player seen with a bandaged head.
A video also showed the bus being targeted with stones as it departed from Dormaa.
This is not the first time Aduana FC has played an additional ten minutes, having scored an equalizer in the ninth minute of added time in their previous game against Real Tamale United two weeks ago.
