The Black Meteors of Ghana have secured their spot in the Under 23 AFCON tournament after defeating the Algerian under-23 National team by a lone goal at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
In a game that saw the first leg end in a stalemate, the Black Meteors showed their class at home with a spectacular performance that saw them beat the Warriors of Algeria.
Fatawu Issahaku, who scored a potential Puskas Award goal in the first game, once again demonstrated his skill as he headed in Ernest Nuamah’s cross from the left flank to secure the win for the Black Meteors.
This victory has now earned Ghana a place in the AFCON 2023, which will take place in Morocco in November later this year. It is a remarkable achievement for the team, who has been working hard to qualify for the tournament.
