Subordinate Officer Oppong Kyekyeku of the Ghana National Fire and Rescue Service has issued a stern warning to all drivers to exercise caution when driving on unfamiliar roads.
In a recent interview with Aduanaba Abena Saah on Fish 88.5 FM, he advised drivers to be extra careful when navigating through new routes as anything could happen on such roads.
Overspeeding on unfamiliar roads can be dangerous, according to Sub Officer Oppong.
‘Drivers need to be aware of their surroundings and be prepared for any eventualities. Failure to do so could lead to fatal accidents, which can cause loss of life and property’ he emphasized.
The Sub Officer also advised drivers to be mindful of other drivers on the road.
‘If a fellow driver alerts them to a problem with their vehicle, they should stop and check immediately. Ignoring such warnings could lead to more significant problems, such as accidents’ he added.
Oppong Kyekyeku emphasized that if drivers take care while driving, the number of accidents and fatalities on our roads would reduce significantly.
