Ear and Throat Nurse Specialist, Eunice Opoku In a recent interview with Fish 88.5’s Adekye3 Mu Nsem Morning Show has revealed that individuals with hearing problems tend to avoid people and social situations because of their condition.
According to Madam Eunice, people with hearing problems often feel shy and embarrassed to disclose their condition to others, which leads them to distance themselves from social interactions.
“This can be due to the fact that they cannot contribute to conversations or engage in social activities as they would like, resulting in feelings of isolation and exclusion”, she added
Madam Eunice Opoku outlined several indicators that suggest one may be experiencing hearing problems, such as having to increase the volume of the TV or radio, asking others to repeat themselves, experiencing delays in speech, and hearing strange sounds.
Opoku advised individuals who are experiencing hearing problems to seek professional help at a health center or hospital.
